La Rifa Chocolatería— Branding, Illustration, Art Direction
More than a chocolate company, La Rifa is a project dedicated to promote cocoa as a natural energy source that works hand in hand with cocoa growing families in the southeast of Mexico. To renew its brand and give it a personal character I made a lettering of the name and a secondary logo that can be used as a seal*. The project has had many transformations, including the last launch of their chocolate bars “Territorios”, in which I had the opportunity to illustrate the scenarios of cocoa production and its ecosystems to be adapted to the chocolate packaging.
The illustrations pay homage to three different Mexican painters from the 20th century and represent the different processes of chocolate-making at various times of the day highlighting scenarios, ecosystems and stakeholders of cacao production:
Dawn: Planting and drying of cacao beans
Afternoon: Harvesting and cutting of cacao beans
Evening: Preparation and consumption of cocoa
